School Policies

Our policies are designed to create a safe, respectful, and well-organised school environment. They provide clear guidance on expectations, behaviour, and interactions, helping ensure that learning runs smoothly and that every member of our school community feels valued and supported.

Uniform Policy

Hibiscus International Academy has chosen to opt for a less formal uniform that consists of:

  • Beige polo shirt with the HIA emblem embroidered onto it and
  • Navy-blue chinos (not denim) or
  • Plain knee-length navy-blue Cargo, Chino or knee-length Bermuda shorts or
  • Plain navy-blue knee-length (not denim) skirt (for girls).
    Note: Tracksuits, denims and tight, form-hugging shorts and pants are not suitable.
  • Plain dark track shoes with plain black or navy socks.
  • Navy-blue jersey with the HIA emblem embroidered onto it.
  • Navy-blue windbreaker with the HIA emblem embroidered onto it.
  • HIA beanie (optional)

Admission Policy

Admission to the Academy will be conditional upon the following:

  • That the pupil meets the minimum academic standard and age requirement of the Grade being applied for.
  • A placement assessment appropriate for the Grade may be administered to determine the pupil’s academic profile as applicants must possess the required level of competence to cope with the Academy’s curriculum.
    Should a professional scholastic assessment be required, this will be at the parents’ expense.
  • Pupils, who are more than two years older than the average age of their grade, will not be considered for enrolment.
  • That the pupil and parents agree and abide by the Hibiscus International Academy’s rules and regulations.
  • Credit checks may apply

Admission to the Academy is at the discretion of the Head of the Academy or person delegated in the absence of the Head.

Language Policy

The language of instruction at Hibiscus International Academy is English and all communication and correspondence from the Academy will be in English

Sport and Extracurricular Programme

In line with the philosophy that “a health body means a healthy mind”, HIA encourages each pupil to participate in an individual extracurricular activity of their own choice such as swimming, tennis, dancing, surfing, karate, squash, horse riding or gymnastics.
